Hello everyone. I hope you have been well.
This morning my reading brought me to Genesis 49. In Genesis 49, Jacob gathers his 12 sons and takes turns blessing them and telling them a prophecy about them. That, and Jacob passes away.
Some of the verses are pretty harsh, but some are beautiful. Like the verse that stood out the most to me, verse 25. It’s a blessing concerning Joseph:
‘From the God of your father who helps you,
And by the Almighty who blesses you
With blessings of heaven above,
Blessings of the deep that lies beneath,
Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.’
I like this verse so much. I take it to mean that the Lord’s blessings are all around us, and that we should try to find them in everything.
